Hi
[/img]
Question 1:
As you can see in above screenshot I can only search for channels on the transponder I have chosen. The search for any other transponders or for all transponders and satelliltes is greyed out. How can I peform such searches?
Question 2:
How are the lists for the satellites and their transponders upgraded? Through the pakets in Kubuntu?
Thanks for your reply.
And a success information
Since one year, first under Ubuntu 09.10 and since about the 15th of October under Kubuntu 10.10 until today, I tried in vain to receive Swiss TV through my legal smartcard with a Viaccess CAM. Since about 1 hour it works suddenly. I have done nothing, except instelled this morning Aptitude and then made a «sudo aptitude update» and «sudo aptitude full-upgrade».
Could that be the trigger?

@1 : stop kaffeine player before preforming a channel scan. If there is a channel playing (and a transponder tuned) the scan will only work in Transponder mode. If you stop playing a channel in kaffeine before preforming a channel scan the whole sat will be scanned
@2: in kaffeine click on "Television - Configure Television" and press the "Update scan data over the Internet" button. This will update the current transponder lists for sat, Terrestrial and Cable.
Nice to hear that your CAM it is working for you! Of course this could be related to latest system upgrades (kaffeine itself supports Cam's & Smartcards for some time now, so it should have been working before) |

Hello mtron
Thank you very much for your help. Both questions answered properly and they are both working as desired.
I can now recommend the application without any reserves and will do that in the German Kaffeine-Forum. Only little point is, there is no handbook. Once existing, I woul like to volunteer for the translation into German. _________________ Best greetings from Scotland's nicest Holiday Island
