Just wanted to ask what is the status of porting kaffeine to Qt4. Have you already started this and when we can expect KDE 4 version?

Yes, we have started.
Kaffeine4 will use Phonon, unfortunately Phonon does not yet implement all features needed by Kaffeine, so do not expect a kde4 version of Kaffeine until at least kde 4.1 |

phonon is just a layer type thing...it makes it so each media app only has to write code for the phonon api..not the xine+whatever else api's. And since xine is the only engine really supported by phonon right now..it's pretty much a certainty it's going to still use xine..
In other news...it's been a few months since the in progress post..is there any new news? |

hmm now is August, and here ond on home page i can not find any new information about version for KDE 4. What is a status of QT4 port now?Is there any source to alpha or beta version?

It's October now and there still isn't even a hint about what's going on...
Mandriva provides a (seemingly) svn-Version: kaffeine4-0.9.0-0.846654 but I don't know where they got the source from.
Will there be a port anytime or has kaffeine gone silently to sleep forever? That would be a mess since kaffeine is my favourit multimedia-app
