Hi, I'm using:
Kaffeine
Version 1.1
Using KDE Development Platform 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1)
------------------------------------------------------------
Everything works except one thing.
After clicking on settings, all i have are 2 choices:
- configure shortcuts
- configure caffeine
which is fine, but.. after clicking "configure caffeine" i'm having only this:
ant that's it! (I remember that previously on older kde and kaffeine, there were much more options)
/Regards
and thanks for response
p.s. already tried to delete:
/home/user/.kde/share/config/kaffeinerc
(didn't helped)

this is on the todo list.
for now you need to edit the xine config file directly. |

or just write plz whre is this file located, so I can edit it myself.
Everyone at google says: "Go to Kaffeine: Settings-> xine engine parameters -> subtitles,", but it's not possible right now. |

depending on your distribution and the version of xine-lib the conffile is
| Code: | | ~/.kde/share/apps/kaffeine/xine-config |
the options for subs:
| Quote: | # subtitle size
# { tiny small normal large very large huge }, default: 1
#subtitles.separate.subtitle_size:small
# subtitle vertical offset
# numeric, default: 0
#subtitles.separate.vertical_offset:0
# font for subtitles
# string, default: sans
#subtitles.separate.font:sans
# font for subtitles
# string, default:
#subtitles.separate.font_freetype:
# whether to use a freetype font
# bool, default: 0
#subtitles.separate.font_use_freetype:0
# encoding of the subtitles
# string, default: iso-8859-1
#subtitles.separate.src_encoding:iso-8859-1 |

The OpenSuSE version of kaffeine I'm using doesn't seem show any sign of progresion, what's the situation?
Personally I miss the Horizontal and Vertical zoom/scaling.
Video settings (Hue,Saturatio,Contrast,Brightness,Audio/Video Offset,Subtitle Offset)
-> feels kind of stupid to use old kaffeine with kde3 libraries in KDE4 desktop environment...
Customizable media path for the DVD media.
So basicly I just need the Xine engine parameters back to the kaffeine UI/settings. _________________ OpenSuSE on Samsung Q530 |

trying to modify this path:
# subtitle size
# { tiny small normal large very large huge }, default: 1
#subtitles.separate.subtitle_size:small
for. ex.:
subtitles.separate.subtitle_size:large
or
subtitles.separate.subtitle_size:
{ large
}
or
subtitles.separate.subtitle_size
{large
}
-----------------------------------------------------
nothing works.
i don't know how do this by any other way...
doesn't have UI to change the font (have only 2 options by clicking on kaffeine configuration - first topic "picture")
this xine-config doesn't seems to do anything....
so is there a way to change the font size (default is so small, that it's hard to be seen from about 50 cm from monitor.... not mention the bed)

Situation doesn't change. Still lack of configuration window.
Fedora 16 x64 (KDE), or newest Kubuntu 11.10 x64 - lack of config.
Changing:
/home/gb/.kde/share/apps/kaffeine/xine-config
does matter, so i put some "example" for those who don't know how it should be changed.
Remember, that every change has to be followed by restart of Kaffeine!
--------------------------
# subtitle size
# { tiny small normal large very large huge }, default: 1
subtitles.separate.subtitle_size:very large
-------------------------
The last thing that bugs me.
Viedo hangs when there's lots of subtitles at a time.
There are two different "hangs" depends on this option:
-----
# use unscaled OSD if possible
# bool, default: 1
#subtitles.separate.use_unscaled_osd:1
-----
When it's like this (osd:1): hangs are like hmm 2-3 frames/sec (when there's much of subtitles).
When it's like this (osd:0): hangs once for like 5sec, on every (about) 10 minutes.
So what's the solution? Is there any of other option in this xine-config that could help with this subtitles?
thx, for reply |
